Very true.
308 OEM parts are getting very scarce, and retailers know this. TOP DOLLAR is being asked for 'common' stuff now. Not uncommon for some items to be twice as much as they were 5 years ago.

Its not NAPA or Autozone pricing.
These are the same people who buy yachts! And cant sail!
Wash and wax the parts above water while the undersides rot.

There are parts available from the factories for any car Porsche, Ferrari, Mercedes-Benz etc. have *ever* produced. Most within a weeks time. Parts are no longer an issue. Except maybe 348 water pumps, but who wants to keep those turds running anyway? RIght?

The major problem with old cars is where do you get the parts?
If you drive them things will break!
Unless you have a machinist with a CNC machine and the parts manuals itâs not worth the effort as far as I am concerned
Even if I had Bill Gates money I would let someone else have the headache
Its like owning WW2 warbirds its for the insanely rich!
I would rather take the money and travel around the world and see different places

Agree. How much higher are 300SL gullwings going, as they are e close to a million now. Daytona's are already in the decline as are most others, not a crash, but they are coming down. 275 GTB/4's are close to 1M as well, 330 -365 GTC's are over 300K. these are cars people want to drive, not just put on a lawn, so I do not see much more appreciation at this point.

I am curious on how the 458 will hold up in the long run.
With no belts to change out this could be the one to watch

We could start a long, boring discussion on market trends of commodities, but instead we should just start shopping for a 300SL Gullwing.
So what's next for you then?
