Bottom line is that the bang for the buck is not
there like it
use to be
You can take the money that you were going to buy
the lump with
and invest it and buy something that will work !
Not something that doesnât steer/brake well etc

True,
but where they in 1992 at that current dollar value? way
over where they are now. The coupes were selling easily at
close to 400 are now
under 300K. A decent driver Daytona near me has been
available for 315K at a
very reputable shop/showroom and no one is biting. 95+ point
cars will bring
top dollar but restoration costs likely negate much profit.
2+2 cars have
peaked and are going to slowly come down and stabilize a
bit. Do you see the
Daytona coupes at 500K any time soon? We all saw the muscle
car boom as a short
lived phenomenon, and plenty took a big hit there. Nostalgia
does not drive the
Euro car market like the muscle car market, so it is a much
better long term
investment, and if you can stay in it for the long haul,
will likely not get
burned.

Are
Daytonas
on the decline? Coupes were $90k in 2003-4. Where are they
now?

Agree.
How much higher are 300SL gullwings going, as they
are e close to a million now. Daytona's are already in the
decline as are most
others, not a crash, but they are coming down. 275 GTB/4's
are close to 1M as
well, 330 -365 GTC's are over 300K. these are cars people
want to drive, not
just put on a lawn, so I do not see much more appreciation
at this point.
