When I gaze at our old TAG Turbo, by Porsche, engine it is a beefy little thing.  It was Prosts two time winning engine at Imola. 1500 cc and about 1100 hp at its best. 4 bar too.  The heads are held on not only with block studs, but with head studs too.  An era not too well appreciated by the drivers.  The car would have 200 hp when they needed more and 1100 when they didn't.

 

My guess?  There will be a lot of chance taking - diving deeper into a turn to hold off a competitor and taking them both out.  But perhaps not - - - these are the best drivers in the world.  They'll adapt.

Of course, my old favorite is Ferrari's shot using a comprex supercharger.  Now THAT thing is a Rube Goldberg if ever there was one.  heh heh
