Besides the advantage mentioned by SJ below, many drivers of extreme turbocharged applications use left their foot to continue or complete a braking zone while building up boost with their right foot simultaneously.

I am a full-time LF braker in paddle shift cars. I started doing it in 1999 when I got my 355, and the software didnât blip on the downshifts (so I needed my right foot to do so under braking). Even though the current cars blip for you, if you brake, shift, and hit the gas yourself, they will still allow you to do it. Iâve done it in a 355, 360 CS, and a Scud â and do it regularly in my duo select QP. Would love to try it in a 599 or 458. J

Hello Fellippe,

re: Left Foot Braking:

I never liked LF braking â to easy to apply the brakes slightly and either wear the pads quickly or cause lots of heat build-up to boil the Brake Fluid & damage things....   and itâs especially bad on the street where the driver behind never really knows f youâre braking or resting your foot on the brake....

Arenât brake lights becoming common in race cars?

Merry Christmas,

You know, all the complaining about paddle shifts got me thinking that at the very least the owners should learn how to left foot brake...

Anyone on here comfortable with it?
