Yeah, like a SIDA badge - allowing one to evade magnetometer, ETD, etc

  Thanks for proving my point.

What Michael James doesn't tell you folks is that you can be a bloody
convicted murderer - even have been convicted of "Carrying a weapon
  or explosive aboard aircraft" ...

AS LONG AS THE CONVICTION IS AT LEAST TEN YEARS OLD.

  No, I'm not kidding, folks.

  Doubt me?

The requirements for a SIDA badge are effectively "none but paperwork"

Hence the reason the Pilot spoke up.

PS: If you equate a SIDA badge with the level of scrutiny required for
      a TS/SCI clearance - it's proof you've never gotten close to one.

      (Nevermind a DoE "Q" w/ Sigma 18 access)

      Ever hear of "FOCI"

Most "practicing muslims" wouldn't get near a clearance due to
the issue of "Foreign Ownership, Control, or Influence"

FWIW - for those who've never held a high level clearance either
with DoD, DoS, or DoE - they not only look at you, but also your
spouse, family, even your children to some degree.

      It's not just a NACLC - (Nat'l Agency Check w/ Local & Credit)

      It's not even an SSBI

It's seeing where you and your family hail from.

It's seeing if there are any skeletons in your closet which can
      be used to blackmail you.

It's seeing if your family still resides in a country hostile to
the USA - to either put pressure on you - or to be kidnapped.

It's controlling where you travel - and making you fill out miles
of paperwork to travel to "certain" countries.

And we didn't even talk about the polygraphs. Even though I think
that polys are a joke - they still eliminate MANY candidates.

Many clearances require initial and periodic CI (CounterIntel) and
      Full-Scope (aka Lifestyle) Polys.
