The background check for a TS clearance or a TS/SCI clearance is a few
orders-of-magnitude more difficult to pass thru than an SIDA badge.

That didn't stop Bradley Manning from siphoning gigs of classified
data from SIPRNET with malice aforethought.

Didn't stop Aldrich Ames, Robert Hanssen, John & Michael Walker, or
any of the other people who have had a serious clearance and abused
it, betraying the public trust and their country.

A background check isn't a "foreground" check - every TLA and most
numbnutz liberals seem to forget that.

It tells you that someone has never been arrested or convicted for
a crime - doesn't tell you that they haven't COMMITTED one, and
certainly doesn't tell you that they aren't PLANNING to commit one!

Every gate agent, and many ticket counter people have SIDA badges.

Try a few lifestyle or CI polys if you think a SIDA badge is tough
  to obtain.

Distillation: The pilot was completely right in his demonstration
of the irony (and ineffectiveness) of DHS/TSA "security theater".
