Subject: [Ferrari] injectors
Hello and holiday greetings!
When 288GTOs were new, I had a long chat with a master mechanic from Mexico City who maintained the cars for two rich industralists and relayed the cars during importation from the USA to Mexico. He said his shop routinely upgraded injectors on all european cars his bosses bought as the dirty gas in Mexico City would rapidly erode the stock injectors and cause all kinds of running problems. Most of the cars saw redline on the way south but once "home" were driven about 30MPH!
One of the bosses was Sr Raul Velasco of SIN TV NETWORK fame. The importation route seemed odd too. Bought in France, driven to third country, airfreighted to Los Angeles, trucked to Eagle Pass, Texas and driven to Mexico City! The obvious reasons were explored but no contraband was ever found.
Changing inujectors seems like a very good idea.
Ciao
