Good observation Rob.  My GF and I were discussing this on monday. I think  back to how the cretans in the superdome behaved after Katrina...  As a society, the Japanese are much better behaved than we are.

and respect for each other that seems unbelievable, considering the catastrophe which has occurred. Parts of the country have been returned to the stone age in minutes. 
I cannot imagine the hardships they will face and the loss they have all endured. Hopefully the nightmare will end soon........
