OK, this has morphed from "when did it start" to "when did I join."
Not necessarily a bad thing......
For me, it was either 1999 or 2000. Can't remember. Last night's
beer killed that particular brain cell.
Early on, I met a number of "Listers". Dave Handa treated me to
an entire day cruising Seattle in his carb 308GTS. We hit all the
exotic car dealerships, which at the time were considerable in
number.
Bumped into Steve Jenkins a time or two.
Probably most memorable was meeting Ferrari Willi in Tucson.
After scaring the shit out me on Mt. Lemon, he let me drive his
car for the rest of the afternoon. A few adult beverages later, and
we all went out for a great dinner with the then infant Harrison.
There was "Dave in Nawlins", who drove me around New Orleans
in his 328GTS, and lunch with Wade Nunez.
And, of course, there was that wonderful day with Rob Garven.
Cruised around in his car for most of a day and got to see the
Ferrari Shrine which is his garage - and entire house. Saw the
personally autographed Enzo letter written to Rob thanking him
for a birthday card.
And numerous meetings with Brian Keegan, several of which
were at the Monterey car orgy.
Also, not to forget the infamous Schumacher doll cross country
relay. Rode with Richard Scorer and .... and..... jeez, I can't
remember his name. Had a 355GTSF1, yellow. We travelled
from Sacramento to Portland, using mostly back roads. It
included a really, really drunk night in Ashland Or.
I'm sure I've left out many others that have been of major
influence over the years, but I thank you all for the great times.
Hans.
