I've been on the list for a quite a few years now - don't remember exactly when it was that I joined but I like the feeling of community. Actually, I've only met one person in the flesh from the list and that's Rui in Portugal and he really is a top bloke with a lovely family. He extended such amazing warmth and hospitality to me and my family when we visited Portugal a few years ago, and one day, if he comes Down Under, I hope to be able to reciprocate. Anyway, I feel like I have some good friends here and that is great, even though I chime in to the conversations only occasionally.
