Door won't open?
Hmmmm - my guess, based on other stuff that
happened to our '78 308.
First - the factory grease used in the olden days
is weird.
The oil evaporates out of it and leaves a very hard
soap.
Ergo - my best guess is when you accurate the door
mechanism, the pieces want are free to move but the spring loaded parts are
gummed up and can't.
Possible solution - somehow get some WD40 or carb
cleaner into the door lock mechanism. Not so much the key tumblers but the
actual big moving stuff. Spritz some cleaner in-between the door latch and
body work - perhaps move the rubber scrapper at the window and send a blast of
cleaner aimed at the about the location of the lock block.
Then exercise the handle inside and
out.
If this frees it up and the door opens - you are
still faced with the hardened soap in the lock mechanism. Just 'cause you
got the door opened this time, the cleaners or WD 40 will also evap out and
leave you in the same fix.
Um, you haven't replaced the door rubber have
you? I have seen situations where the new rubber presses so hard against
the door the latch won't move in the lock box. Just
wondering.
Good luck

made)
