Hello Rick and friends
Economics, religion and politics are touchy subjects so I will try not to incite anyone.
I deal in import-export acivities daily and trade is  a world of manipulation, distorsion, lies and deceit almost like traeading thru a minefield.
On most B2B internet sites like ALIBABA 99% ofr more buy or sell offers are bogus.
It isnt much better in other forums. Believe it or not, Nigeria and neighbors are not the biggest offenders. The USA has its share. Oil products like JET FUEL (Colonial Grade JP54, JPA1, etc) and DIESEL FUEL *D2) are mainly sold out of Russian Federation producers to the world secondary market through chains of resellers including hedge funds and speculators. End price is not so much supply and demand as who manipulates best? PLATTS reports average prices but actual deals are often heavily discounted. Even Middle Eastern interests speculate in Russian oil! We currently are involved in such a transaction involving potentially 1 million metric tons per month! The USA and other governments distort things too by changing the fiscal transaction requirements to suit their purposes. Prices at the pump are not driven by supply and demand in my opinion.
I currently do not vote in any election in any country in the world. There are many levels of reasons for that posture.
However I will venture my opinion that the USA and most of the World's current economic problems will not be fixed by any political entity until a true global "economic correction" occurs very soon. The proverbial "house of cards" is falling down; it just hasn't hit bottom yet. It will not be easy or fun. I hope I am wrong. But that is my current opinion.
Good luck to all and meanwhile, "Lets enjoy the Ferrari World"!
                                     Ciao
                                     Dale
