Well, today was the day, sunny, bit of wind.

I had charged the battery for the 1970 Silver Shadow which was blocking the door... get that running (fired right up after 17 months) got that outside, washed, dried, driven around to dry the panels out a bit.... parked in the sun.

THEN the main event.... the 1978 308GTB, full Euro spec with low air dam, in red and tan.... Air in the tyres.... new battery in.... find the keys... slide in behind the wheel, ignition on.... let the fuel pump run for 30-40 seconds... three pumps of the throttle and a little choke..... it fired right up after only 5 seconds of turning, after not having run for 17 months!  Ran perfect, not a stutter not a miss.

Park it outside, wash, dry and drive to dry the panels, warm the engine, gearbox and brakes..... quick 100mph on the way back:))))

Four years and 4 months since the day I did the deal to buy it and it still gives me the EXACT same buzz as the first time I drove it.
Magic.

To this day find myself walking into the shed and doing a double take, not sure it's really their.

I have to say that the 308 has exceeded all my ownership expectations.

Rave over.. time for a nice cuppa and a relax:))

Regards
Gavin
308GTB, lives again!

I have not run my 1978 308 GTB since the first of Jan 2010.....
I am shocked at my slackness....
WELL, I went out and ordered a new battery for it today.
I have got to use it more. (repeat over and over)
Regards
Gavin
