I didn't go with the 3G one since I always have my iPhone with me and it can very easily be setup as a wireless access point, and kept in my pocket. Works quite brilliantly connected to my iPad, MacBook and my son's iPod touch... Also does not cost me that much more per month :)...

I'd definitely get the 3G version, but I use mine in
parking lots, in the car, etc. so I have to have access to the net
and e-mail etc all the time. Not so sure on the warranty. I
never buy them either, but I did on a Maytag Neptune front load
washer and dryer and it was the best money I ever spent. Have
received 2 new washers in the last 5 years free of charge.
Apple does not cover liquid being spilled on the iPhone, iPad,
etc. Nor do they cover anything if you drop it. I never buy the
warranties on mine as if you do break a screen they can be fixed
for $75.00. What does Best Buy charge for their warranty and how
long is the coverage? It may be worth the money, but in the past
after I drop mine once and have it repaired there is a new iPhone
model or color out, so I upgrade anyway and sell the old unit.
Except my original iPad, which I ran over with a Mercedes ML.
Don't ask.

iPad 2 64gb wi-fi 3G Bestbuy

I generally DO NOT buy extended
Warranties, but on such a portable device seems like a good
idea(?)
Then Bestbuy is pushing the
BESTBUY with drop and spill coverage. Because Applecare does
not cover those items.
Checked the apple forums seems he
may be right.
Since I don't have an Apple store
near - example on the iPad (1st gen) there was/is an issue
stress cracks in the plastic covering the antenna, the first
ones that had it with no visable evendense that they were
droped were denied.
Oters that were replaced somtimes
got referbed units that had dents.
I am very careful but not as fast
as I think I was and definately not lucky.
What is your advice (and no I
won't hold you to it)
Adam good advice for the mifi
Verizon but I think they are not by the month.
Verizon is my cell carrier (the
only carrier I can get in my area, but considering AT&T
iPad since I believe it works in Europe (my Droid did not work
in Europe and had to get
rental phones from Verizon $1 a
minute)
Thanks
Stephen

I agree. The 2 is noticeably better and for the same $.

Given the keynote by Steve Jobs, yesterday, there's
nothing new to offer in iPad or iPad 2 in the foreseeable
future.
I'd certainly recommend getting the iPad 2. I
wouldn't get the cellular data version -- it's expensive
and the data service is slow. I have the Verzion 4G
MyFi and it's brilliant -- 10 to 20 Mb/s (seriously!)
Of course, coverage can be patchy.
The iPad 2 has cameras, so it does video chat and
functions as an okay camera. Very fun for kids.
Numerous fun and educational games. Cheap. It's a
tiny bit thinner than the iPad 1, but not important.
The main advantage is the faster processor -- it is
noticeably faster. The clip-on cover is a bit useless
and inconvenient sometimes. We reverted to a
conventional neoprene sleeve. Mounting the iPad 2 in
the car makes for a excellent in-car navigation,
computing, video entertainment. At home, it's a great
home automation tool as well -- nothing in the
"proprietary" realm of products for in-car or at-home
comes close to the quality of an iPad 2 and they're
often multiples of the price. We've now become
"dependent" on having an iPad here and there. Once it's
"in the cloud" it will be indispensable.
