Got to see the new FF in person tonight at the Ferrari of Quebec cocktail party. It was presented in a stunning shade of red (slightly dark metallic with Cuoio interior) but that didn't keep it from looking like a giant BMW M coupe. I wouldn't say it's ugly, really, but it has no real stand out details and certainly doesn't evoke any emotions of attachment like a Ferrari should. It was quite beautiful inside and I'm sure they'll sell a few to those who want to impress at the Piggly Wiggly or scare the bejeezus out of their Irish Setters on the way to the hunt. And it did have two honest-to-goodness cup holders. I guess eventually prices will go the way of the 400i/456 and it will be the bargain of the century for those who want a spectacular daily driver with major service costs equal to a Toyota Camry (the whole car - not the Toyota service). The video of it in the snow sure did look fun though... Ferrari of Quebec did do a great job with the party. Great catering - great eye candy (automotive and not) and very strong attendance. It's also a gorgeous dealership. It wasn't quite finished when we went last year. This year it was and it's everything someone would imagine if they imagined a Ferrari dealership. Absolutely gorgeous, right down to the tire mounting/balancing room. They also had a really cool lift I'd never seen before - essentially similar to two side-by-side scissor type motorcycle lifts they show on the custom builders shows, but recessed into the concrete so you can drive right onto them. They need zero clearance and lift the car like a 2-post would but without the posts and the swing arms. I'm not sure if everything would line up right to drop the drivetrain out of a TR or F355, but they had a 308 on it and it was really trick. Going to consider it for my garage eventually, maybe as a 2nd one to the 2-post. -- charles
