John is alittle cheap....lol.  We call his steel-injector cleaning a 'false economy'.  25-year-old injectors should be tossed, not recycled.  The new brass injectors shouldn't cost more than $25 a pop.  Shop with the Bosch part number.

 

The injector has two 'types' of seals, depending on how your injector is seated in the manifolds - both are available, but you may need a press if you have the steel cup races.  The Donuts are easy to install.

I did this a couple of years ago on my 81 308 GTSi the injectors part number (AutohausAZ) 0437502047 were $20.39 then. I got the injector rubber from Superformance 114661 3.95 each.
Birdmans site ( I think I sent you a link) has a good description in the cleaning injector - considering the price for the injectors I don't know why they bothered cleaning them.
