+1 for Phil. My dealings with him were to perform a preliminary “look-see” on his behalf. I’d happily do it again – he was a pleasure to deal with.

I think there is a new mug quote in there somewhere! I agree Phil is a class act and also drove my two favorite ferraris in the world, which makes him extra cool…..

I would feel more comfortable buying from an owner but I can see a rich guy with more money than time sending guys out to look for cars for him.

I'd start with the Ferrari Market Letter, and maybe a trip to Cavallino to talk to other owners.  Most of the 'big cars' sell via word-of-mouth, I hear.

I'm with Clyde - I bought from an online broker - the only thing he brought to the table was taking his 'cut' and passing the BS back and forth.  As a buyer, you're still carrying all the risk.  You still need to do your own PPI, there is no money-back guarantee from dealing with a broker.  Many are professional liars who will say anything to get that sale and a fat commission.

Guys what do you expect?
Years ago I told all of you on the list about dealers an brokers!
They sell hype ! That's it!
Like trying to buy pussy over the internet.
Its not going to be what you think it is when it knocks on your door!
The only honest broker I know is Phil! Period
And you rarely if ever see he hawk anything on the list
Why because he has class an doesn't deal with posers with deep pockets!
The rest are chechean rebels!

Wow, crazy story....

Don't know anything about Michael Sheehan really except that he's supposedly an authority on these cars, esp. market values. The one thing I'll give him credit for is the ultra high end of the Ferrari game....the 288 GTOs, 275 GTB/4s, 410 Superamerica, etc.

So pardon my ignorance but let's say one of us has the money to buy one of these cars. Where do you start?

Phil can you find me and Lashdeep's favorite car?  The 250 SWB SEFAC.....gotta be SEFAC or nothing baby. :)
