Looking back through these emails, I see a mortgage broker, gemologist and alternative investment broker title all being used. Maybe we should give him some leeway, with those job descriptions, it's possible he hasn't had a hot meal since 2008....

I was truly surprised by your email Steve. The last time we spoke you talked about how serious the Ferrari Group as a whole supported honesty and reverence to the Marque. That was the reason you printed the story on John Hayjak's 512 S, so that "there would not be any misrepresentation with this car" this was a quote from you. REMEMBER. So as long as it sells your magazine article, then what you did was honorable. Now you claim that what MS and MK did was ok. overstamped engines, selling to a person who trusted MS. I think I better make your letter public as well.

You'll get no sympathy from me. Gentlemen solve their problems quietly. You made a rookie mistake and have done yourself irreparable harm by posting your grievances on line. Everybody knows Mike and everyone knows he's not Mother Theresa. You haven't changed anyone opinion of Mike. You've just exposed your lack of maturity in the business. If anything you've shown he has the ability to get things done and you don't.

If you want to start out pitching in the World Series be prepared to be hit by some line drives. You may think you know the answers but I can tell you, it took me 10 years to learn the questions. Mr. Goldman is well aware of whet he bought. Airing dirty laundry about his new multi million dollar car is more likely to get you sued than get you a gold star. Blabbing details of a big sale just shows you can't be trusted with the details, not a good way to make it to the top.

The reason I sent you the information was because of a Ferrari 250GT SWB that John Hayjak had in his storage. MS used me to go in and divert the brokers, while he came in the back door, he used the photos we had, ignored the contracts in place and Classishe and resold the car to Jay Goldman under false pretense.

Clyde has been preaching -dealers are crooks - for years. It might be Mike today but it's any dealer as far as he's concerned. I asked him once why it's okay for a dealer to sell a car for under list but not okay to sell one for over list. The best he could come up with is - that's different.

Dealers don't set prices, buyers do. If the price of something is too high, don't buy it.If people don't buy, the seller's only recourse is to lower the price.

Now why would anyone consider buying from MS with all this shit going on?

Good question, but assuming it just popped off now with Doug Legrand's story, we will have to wait and see.

Am I missing something here?
No wonder its so easy to rip off Ferrari buyers
You smart  guys make tons money somewhere else an forget how to spend it smart
I can see why the dealers an brokers for the most aprt love this crowd

You guys are easy!

You talk a big game for someone who has bought 2-3 Ferraris in 30 years. :-)

Nothing against the 308/328 and 512 TR because I love them dearly, but neither car is in the same league price *differential* wise as a 250 or 275. Can you honestly nail down any of those high priced 250-275 cars to a 5-20k bracket?? Are there that many Cavallino/FML ads that can generate a super solid number? (not a rhetorical question).

I typically see 50-100k price differentials minimum for these cars.........288 GTO, F40, F50 and Enzo included on that list too.

To me this is the reason people seek the brokers. I've looked at Sheehan's site over the years mostly for the pictures, and I rarely see any of the sub 100-150k Ferraris on his site for sale.

If there was a $40k price flux for 348s I'm sure Sheehan would be there too, and probably the potential buyers as well.

I think Sheehan might now be suspect, but I wouldn't say all brokers are bad. Is Joe Sackey a broker? He seems like someone who could be useful for a 288, F40, Countach or Miura purchase being that he has owned a few and seems to love these cars.

FG

BTW Clyde, you can make the same point by swapping the "you" for "us/we", and it delivers 100% the message with none of the "zing". :-)
