Hi Charles -
For some reason your email didnât come through â but to answer your question â Yup, that was me Winking smile
- but Iâm not sure if it was C&D or R&T?   They made an error about Porscheâs last overall win at LeMans...

I actually wrote several letters with that being the only to make it into print so far â one other was about unintended acceleration â I asked them about their method of standing on the brake, pushing the revs to 5K or some such number then sliding the left foot off the clutch to get the best 0-60 times.  I also mentioned a recent event where the accel linkage on our â91 300D dropped off the ball/socket and wedged so the ended stayed at WOT as I joined traffic on a interstate â I immediately got on the brakes and pulled over then turned the key off, found the problem and was on my way.

My point being, the brakes hold some very high performance cars in road tests even though the engine is at itâs max HP rpm, just like my 300D (granted not a high HP but gobs of torque) and still in all of these cases the brakes have no problem stopping the car or keeping it stopped in the case of the road tests.

Now I need to find out why the List got your question to me but I didnât ....
