Ferrari Mailing List: How to put Pininfarina emblem back ?

I have a 1981 308 GTSi:I took the Pininfarina emblem off before sending my Ferrari to the paint shop. I used a long screwdriver to pull the 2 pin retainers off. I broke one pin. So, I bought another one.

I knew it would be next to impossible putting it back on. There is no way to slide my hand between the bodywork and the gas tank to reach the 2 pins. So now, all that's holding the emblem is a piece of double-sided tape. Very easy to steal.

 

Is there a trick to put it back correctly ?
