His 1959 LM victory driving the AM DBR1 (arguably the most beautiful
race car to come out of the UK) really gave CS the door opener to
approach Ford, AC Cars, etc. His F1 career as pretty short -- he
had a heart condition requiring lots of Nitro Glycerine (sometimes
when driving) to keep his heart pumping - and was told, stop racing
or die. The comments that CS wanted to build cars is not accurate
