Hello
Aerodynamics is or still can be a black art.
I see hints the ENZO has transits of instability
at certain speeds and possibly crosswind conditions?
Lots of other cars and bikes do too. On a bike if
you vary your riding position "cafe racer" style
you can see big effects from slight frontal area
changes. Even helmet streanlining can be effective.
Look at all the aero tricks on the new 458 and 599GTO
etc. Every little thing helps or hurts? Years ago I
played around with a VW Type 181 Thing and folding
the windshield, removing some or all the doors,
removing the folded top, etc all effected how that
miserably slow car handled on winding roads as well
as straight far beyond the weight reductions.
Regards
Dale
PS Never met Carrol but wished I had
I was in the F Camp so never looked hard at the
Cobras, FT40s, Mustangs, etc. He was a strong
personality and drove a lot of equipment well.
I can still remember seeing Cobra big blocks
around the Courtland Alabama SCCA races way back.
They really projected power. Still a older British
design not too attractive with a backyard hotrod
swap. In the SE USA back then there were lots of
those. Overheated as they all trend to do.

I remember reading about that Swiss engineer who was the first to rig a
high wing on his Porsche 550 Spyder. He was protested (by Mercedes
IIRC) and the wing was removed. I believe he ran a lap or 2 of practice
with the wing in place and posted times 15+ seconds faster than the 1st
place drivers. No wonder that wanted him and his flippin' wing banned!
;-) I guess that 1955 wing ban prevented the wing tragedies that F1
faced in the early 70's when the F1 teams sprouted wings of all sorts -
wings with flimsy supports that ultimately caused many accidents.
Fun N Games :-)
