That would depend on the Ohm rating of the wire - the guy who built my plug-wire loom (using Magnecor wire, but Ferrari 'ends') provided me with a measurement of each connector, in-relation to the spec.  Each plug wire should be the same range, measured tip-to-tip.

Thanks for the info. But the extender was in good shape. Only the tip touching the connector needed some sanding. The connector and only the connector was rusted all around. I'm still going to order 8 new ones.
As for the Ford Focus connector, I would think that a 2000 car part should be better than a 1981 car part. Whoever made it. Right ?????

If you're trying Ford parts in your Ferrari as a temporary experiment to determine root-cause analysis, that's great.  However, your car's electrical system was not designed for those extenders/wires.  A specific Ohm-range is required between coil and spark-plug, and the factory wires and plug extenders were designed to meet a certain Ohm-rating, depending on model-year.  There was a cut-off somewhere, as the plug extenders changed (not just in color from black to red).  The cheap, aftermarket plug extenders are known to MELT, resulting in a molten puddle of plastic goo at the bottom of the spark plug well - you do NOT want this!

Yes, water can get-into the spark plug well and corrode the extenders, causing misfire and/or complete failure - even with the caps in-place.  Not exactly a precision fit, then take into consideration thermal expansion of dissimilar materials.

1981 308 GTSi: Remember my totally broken connector (connecting plug wire to plug extension) from yesterday ? Well, I looked at another today, #3 front of engine, the connector was TOTALLY rusted and broken in 2. Anymore rust and it would have been desintegrating by itself.
How can it rust ? It's well hidding, no water can get in there. I don't understand.
I guess electricity wasn't not going through by much.

I fixed it by taking the connectors from the a spare set of plug wires from my 2000 Ford Focus and test drove again. Much much better, not perfect. Still a little backfire now and then, but much smaller. I'll check the 4 back connectors tomorrow.
I still have that bling bling sound. Got to go to the muffler shop to have it checked.
