I too second the fiberglass car. Even more if euro spec. To me that will always be the coolest 308 ever, and interestingly enough it was the very first 308 to roll off assembly lines in Maranello. My favourite would be a ‘glass car and as a second option, if not the very last of the 328s, then the last of the QVs. I’d have no interest in anything in between, unless it was remarkable, and most of my friends feel the same way.
In 2nd place for 308s, toss up on QV vs. carbed. I think GTBs will do a little better than GTS. Euro carb I like more than Euro QV, but American QV I like more than American carbed (generally speaking). Lashdeep had a US spec carbed '76 steel that was very cool, but there've been a # of carbed 308s that weren't great.
That's been my biggest observation with 308s in my 16 years studying them.....so dependent car to car. Some 308s look like such dogs to me, while others can be amazing. This applies to performance as well.
328 is basically a matter of good PPI or not, and that's it. Some like the '89 wheels, some don't.
Not sure about appreciation on these cars, but given the special treatment regarded the fiberglass cars, I'd imagine you'd never lose money on them.
BTW, not much is ever said about the Dino GT/4s, but there's a car that is pretty cheap and doesn't appear to lose value. Great driving experience. If you can get behind the looks, a great deal.
As the years have gone by they have gotten cooler to me. I'd take an excellent one over an average GTB/GTS car for sure.
