Agreed, thus my comments about American brands in Europe and Asia. No one here (defined as <0.1%) gives a s#!t about F1. And if you looked at the stands in last weekend's race, they don't seem to care in Korea either! I'm afaid that the Bernie-Swan-Song is about making as much money as possible in the SHORT TERM (after all, what else does he have, at his age?) and screw the future market. Therre's certainly no consideration of the history of Formula 1.
And no Erik, I have no dilusions about F1 being a 'sport'. It isn't. Its an entertainment business. And because it doesn't encourage drivers to hit one another on and off the track, or the bully voting a driver off the island, or involve some slutty New Jersey (pseudo-) housewife, it won't sell here. And that's why I believe the goal is to get the American marketing money, not the Americans.
