Easy, get an old car. A part of me wants to get a Porsche 914 just to mess with the heads of the local Pbug society. In orange...

It's an interesting looking update to the C6 -- mechanically mostly the same platform, unique (peculiar?) to the aging Vette machinery. The focus seems to be on aesthetics and electronics to appeal to a wider audience beyond the core enthusiast willing to plunk $50K-$115K down on a 500 to 600+ horse dinosaur that somehow to outpace the flash fillies from Porsche and Ferrari. : )
I'm a Ferrari "eventually" buyer who was scared out of the 430 Scuderia market by Ferrari offering me one! After all, I would not want to be a member of any club that would take someone like me as a member ... Sure enough the '08 crash (arguably on-going) screwed the pooch for Ferrari and its secondary market price fixing racket. Porsche has fared little better. Which brings me to my point: the only other marque I can mention in the same breath in terms of uninterrupted lineage is, strange as it may seem, the Corvette. It's not really my cup of meat, but I have to say I respect the thing on the track in capable hands. Porsche has gone to the dog house with the 991. I have the 991S, it's not my idea of a 911. I still have the RS 3.8 and that waits out another winter, patiently ready for a January track day. Meanwhile, Ferrari has gone to peculiar design lines to appeal to the avant garde global buyer, and the "sit back, dear driver, and watch this car drive itself" electronics of the 458 Italia leave me cold. What's an analog boy to do in a digital froufrou age?
