Rick, please send some pics of the 400S.
I enjoyed the DD a lot. Great car with simple mechanicals, excellent handling/chassis setup and decent brakes. Steering was fine but required effort at low speeds. The doors/ingress/egress were all pretty easy once you got used to it.
Mine was used only on backroads and open highway...perfection in those conditions.
A couple of vids shortly after buying it...hadn't fully sorted out ignition issues at this point.

I used to miss it a lot but the GT5-S is its evil twin. So simliar...firm ride, chassis, power, overall dimensions but with better brakes.
It also feels terrible below 60-70...harsh, ponderous, confused, twitchy, etc.
Above 80, 100, 130, it's an open road masterpiece much like a well sorted Countach.

My brother and I owned a white "400 S" early in the 80s. It was a HOOT at first. Driving around the pot-holed roads in Vegas was harsh.... and that's the best word to use with any Lambo,.. Harsh! It road like a truck (or would that be tractor?). But yet, still a lot of fun. When girls knew we had it they always wanted to take the Lambo... the first 2, maybe 3 times... then it was "can we take the Suburban tonight". The Fanny, Foot, Foot entry pattern over the wide sills with the swing up doors also presented a "beaver shot" problem with the ladies... so they didn't like it much after 1 or 2 trips. When I'd take it for trips to LA, the GF having to take everything needed for the weekend in a bag they had to carry on their lap...
only made
them hate it more. Just before 40K miles, it started showing the early signs of needing a valve job. We sold it to a young Arab kid who drove it 5 minutes and came back and gave us full price in cash and drove away. We later saw him in one of the casinos and he said he ended up having to spend $35K doing a valve job but he still loved the car and thanked us for selling it to him. He didn't drive it to the show that night because his girlfriend hated it...
Shame Lash sold it.... I'd say no. I think the only thing I enjoyed selling more than the Lambo was our boat! But I met some good people in the Lambo crowd and a few are still close friends today.
