Ever since the F40 the new Ferrari
supercars have been sold as follows ... whoever bought a new F40
has first right of refusal on the F50. Whoever bought an new
F50 has first right of refusal on an Enzo. And so on
... If not all available cars are
purchased by previous new car clients then Ferrari sells to the
"general public" via a waiting list. This is the reason Lamborghini
and other exotic manufacturers
have their limited edition model runs sold out before they are even
announced to the public. Also, with the F50 is when Ferrari began requiring the buyers to "lease" their car for two years.
