In a recent interview while promoting his book, Sammy Hagar says he had approached Luca about purchasing an Enzo a few years back. He was rebuffed, because the run had sold-out - but Luca had promised him the first of 'the next one'.....would be interesting if Luca is a man of his word. The Red Rocker will get LaFerrari #1.

Ever since the F40 the new Ferrari supercars have been sold as follows ... whoever bought a new F40 has first right of refusal on the F50. Whoever bought an new F50 has first right of refusal on an Enzo. And so on ... If not all available cars are purchased by previous new car clients then Ferrari sells to the "general public" via a waiting list. This is the reason Lamborghini and other exotic manufacturers have their limited edition model runs sold out before they are even announced to the public.
Also, with the F50 is when Ferrari began
requiring the buyers to "lease" their car for two years. This kept title out of the hands of the owners and kept cars off the used market and this no speculators to "flip" them and drive prices up.
