Even Enzo always said, when asked which is the "best Ferrari" - "The Next One". [Although this is said with tongue firmly in cheek, I do believe it's the attitude. Even at the local level. While looking at a brand new FF, I asked someone at the local dealership who could possibly restore this car in 30, 40, or 50 years. Response? "Who cares, I'll be long dead by then!" :-) ] All that being said, here's my take on the new Ferrari "TheFerrari": to me it's very, dare I say it?, "Lamborghini-esque". It's not "pretty" like a 250, 275 or 330. Or like a Daytona, Dino, or 308. Or even like a - well, you get the point. But it is rather awe-inspiring and "out there" - maybe "outlandish" is the word. I do think it's better looking than the Enzo. And I also agree with the comparison to the Glickenhaus P4/5, though with a reworked, more F1-inspired nose. But there are way too many lines and cuts and ducts - overall design is just too "busy" for my taste. Even if I had the means, I could probably come up with a lengthy list of other cars I'd rather have for the same price of this one. I have no doubt that they'll all sell and then re-trade at even higher prices (which will remain high due to its limited availability - for better or worse.). But I'm definitely in Adam's court - an F40 would absolutely be on "the list". FWIW. gp |
