Friends, I know I can get heavy into the "Ferrari Love" thing, just want you all to know I have a sense of humor, which may not come through on the typed email interaction! Some one mentioned entertainment, since I no longer play drums and cannot take enough photos to satiate my artistic tendencies, I try to make most of my posts visually or mentally entertaining. Did not want any of you getting the wrong idea, noticed a uncomfortable silence after I posted this. Hey at least its Ferrari related! I still consider it a passion, if I was obsessed I would have a Ferrari tattoo or at least have a restraining order from Stefano Domenicali! If there were a drug to take to cure this not sure I would want to take it! BTW I spelled Col. Trautmans' name incorrectly below. My apologies to the late Richard Crenna. Rob Wanting a Classic V12 cant be as crazy as this the most I have dome is wear a ferrari shirt and jacket at the same time! HAAAA P.s. These are real Tattoos from the F1 Austin race. ouch not sure what the chinese dragon means, of course I would have had a SF shield over there for symmetry! :-P Robert W. If real logic is in play then I could have never afforded or maintained my GT4 even. I will never have enough money for what I want and if I cant get the car I want now I will just have to waste the money on something else. I think Rick understood more clearly my desires. Col Troutman (Rick): "Rob What do you want?" Rambo (Rob): " I want what every guy that ever laid under his car trying to get the nut off the dipstick tube wants. I want my Ferrari to love me as much as I love it!" Col Troutman (Rick): "How will you live" Rambo (Rob): "Day by day" Apologies to Rambo II screenwriters. Will I get it? Can I afford it? Will my wife finally leave me? Will the internet Ferrari tech gurus who have guided me this far help me to understand a V12 Ferrari? Will California burn down before any of this happens? These and other questions to be answered in the next episode of Robs Great Adventure. I feel that I have somehow been blessed with my current Ferrari ownership. I think this has all been answered when as a young kid I ran out to the mailbox and found a large envelope from Enzo Ferrari with an autographed photo in it. And the day I found out I was born on the sam day Dino Ferrari passed away. And the day in San Francisco outside an Italian Restaurant near the wharf when I saw my first Ferrari and got on my knees in front of it. I cant remember the model, color or year but it had the long nose of a superfast or one many other models from that era. I was speechless, dumbfounded and transformed. From that second my life assumed a trajectory beyond human understanding and has been propelled and fueled by the love of everything Ferrari. I am a man of little faith, but I have faith in Ferrari and so he has never let me down. There is an Italian joke that says when people go to the gates of Heaven God turns to his side and asks Enzo if he should let them in. I hope I am on that list........... Sincerely, Rob (being led back to his cell) P.s. Many of you I have sent this to. I maybe even posted it to the list. Near the end of my last major service which was trying on my skills and humbling. I felt I reached a point where the car was going back together and I was happy. I always take lots of pictures and I walked outside my garage and looked up in the sky, over my house and I saw this and snapped a photo. Can any of you explain this? <Horse cloud.jpg> Robert W. Rob WANTS a classic V12 Ferrari, not an investment, or a minimum-cost maintenance plan, or to "drive the wheels off of it." Hell, if that was the quest, he should buy a C4 Corvette and raise hell, albeit with 3/4 the cylinders. My advice is to let Rob spend HIS money the way HE wants to do so. I now go back to lurking with my "worthless" early Testarossa and my "fire hazard" carbed 308GTB... -rick _________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe or modify your subscription options, please visit: http://lists.ferrarilist.com/mailman/options/ferrari/rgarven%40gmail.com Sponsored by BooyahMedia.com and F1 Headlines http://www.F1Headlines.com/ To unsubscribe or modify your subscription options, please visit: http://lists.ferrarilist.com/mailman/options/ferrari/rgarven%40gmail.com Sponsored by BooyahMedia.com and F1 Headlines http://www.F1Headlines.com/ |
