Actually I hardly
watch Speed anymore now that Nascar has taken over, however I
did look to them to provide their normal
excellent coverage of 24h LeMans. i'm still adjusting to getting
16-18 hours on TV and the rest on the Net but at least I can find
it.
I visited the Fox Sports website and they include a lot of
sub-networks such as Speed and Fuel and about 6 others (maybe more)
who appears to be set to cover all the series I follow - which is
basically ALMS and Rolex which are now United SportsCar Racing &
Continental Sports Car Series - I haven't followed F1 rabidly for
a few years now although I do occasionally watch and nearly always
watch Monaco.
as mentioned by another lister -- this my actually be an improvement
for us "fanatics". :-)

Turn off the tube, it all sucks now anyway. For those that
haven't found the Evo Magazine videos, they are much more in
tune with our generic demographic.
Speed has basically been positioned to the redneck with
erectile disfunction crowd for at least the last 3 years...
YMMV,

If you go to the SpeedTV.com website you'll see
that Speed is just becoming Fox Sports 1. From the
disclaimers it looks like they will carry most of the
same content. I think losing F1 hurt Speed more than
they want to admit.
It
may be a good thing; hopefully they will find some
better content than showing 3 year old Monster Truck
events when there is no live motorsports.

I
agree completely! Then I wondered if
perhaps FoxSports now owns SpeedTV and are
possibly converting from Speed to
FxSports? I am really concerned that we
may lose Speeds amazing coverage of LeMans,
Daytona and Sebring. I wonder if Speed
will still be available on DirectTV or
DishTV? Maybe programming can be downloaded
from the Speed website? Guess I'll go
searching.... At this point i don't know
whether to comlain to Comcast or
FxSports....

I have been on travel a lot recently so may have missed any earlier
discussion, but today I got a notice from Comcast that they are replacing
SPEED-TV with FOX SPORTS 1. Although FS1 seems to have a reasonable lineup
for NASCAR and MOTOGP, (the program listing only goes from I fear that most
of the less popular race series and all the specialty car shows will be lost
to MLB, NHL, NFL, UFC and the like. This is a sad day for me. SPEED-TV is my
favorite channel. With 500 plus channels available and specialty channels
for Golf and Tennis why do they feel the need one more generic Sports
Channel?
