Read carefully.

I said I like football because it reduces traffic and takes politics off the TV. Personally I can manage traffic but I DO consider TV politics to be abuse. :-P

Happy Sunday.

It's one thing to not be into football because it's not your sport....

But it's disappointing when I see people dismiss the game because they see
it as a barbaric contest between meatheads.

Sure there's a bit of that element to the game, but at this level it's very
sophisticated. Big time games are won on elite coaching as much if not more
than the talent on the field, more than any other professional sport and
perhaps even more than precious auto racing.

Coaches put in 16-20 hour days preparing for games, studying film of
previous games to see tendencies of players, schemes, audibles, etc. The
players when not working out and practicing are also studying film to get a
leg up.

You go through all of this, and at the end of the day you still need a bit
of luck to go your way. The better team doesn't always win these games.

Of course if it was just the intellect, then it would be chess on a 100
yard field. There's an element of testosterone to it.......and why is that
a bad thing??

A field of 15 or so 800 hp cars battling for position inches from each
other is pretty much the same thing! Embrace it!

Anyways, I know this email changes absolutely nothing......but I can't let
this abuse go on any further without saying something. :)
