Hi all

Some of you know I bought a GT4 here in Uk - just 2 days ago.

Thought I would copy you with a post I made to a predominantly UK based forum I am active on.

And yes I will post links to some pics tomorrow.

"Proper car Tony

4 twinchoke Weber carbs - that's how cars should be, none of this modern injector stuff

And she performed really well on the rolling road dyno, 232bhp against Ferrari's original optimistically quoted 255. Tony Willis told me 255 less 10% would have been accurate in the day, so she's performing as well as new.

Had a really great day. As many of you will know I have been active on the Ferrari scene for a long time and it was a real thrill to finally go to an event in my own one. I drove up in convoy with Jonathan Tremlett, which made it more special, and spent most of the day being congratulated on my purchase and complimented on the car (thanks Mark456M).

As well as the driving experience - which is just great - my daily driver, though actually just as powerful and quick, just feels so soulless and boring in comparison. I'm lapping up all the other great experiences I have heard the rest of you talk about. Watching people taking pics of the car, hearing their comments about how lovely it looks, seeing kids point their phones at me to take a pic as I go past - and what was most lovely - an old lady, probably nearer 80 than 70, in my local Waitrose car park (I'd parked at the furthest point taking up two parking spaces of course) came up to me and told me how beautiful the car was and could she stand and listen while I started her. Of course the engine was quite hot and it took a few goes to get it fired up - but she looked delighted and blew me a kiss as I drove away. That really made my day. I think I'm going to enjoy Ferrari ownership even far more than I ever anticipated "

Best

Francis
