Following the nationalist theme, I'm of Scottish descent so I should be driving steam powered cars! Woohoo!
Pondering at 7am...
I'm not sure the nationality of the top management is all that important. Ferrari has had great years and long dry spells under various managers. Its cyclical with all these teams (think Williams and McLaren).
The ban on off-season testing may play a big roll. It makes for car designs more-or-less locked in place without ground truth to validate the designs. There are just too many variables plus a sizable dose of chaos, to design a car totally in the computer. As they say; Practice always work in theory, but theory doesn't always work in practice! And that's hard for me to admit being a rock physics modeller! Still, my tender 63 years of age has taught me that s#!t happens that the model didn't protect - even for nationalists.
