Wow!  That has to be the longest post Clyde has ever made!

A veritable term paper from the man of few words. We'll never fit that onto a coffee mug!

Guys you are not getting it
other than Ferrari who can afford this sport ?
All the other teams need sponsors, big sponsors with deep pockets
The whole world just came thru a recession
And some of the EU is still in it !
These new rules with regards to testing and the like were put in place to reduce cost
And keep sponsor interest!
I would love to go back to the days of qualifying engines and qual tires!
Special fuel etc
But it ain't going to happen
It's Mercedes turn in F1
So be it
It was RB before that
Ferrari has defined F1 for the world
Their logo is the 3 rd most recognized logo behind coke and IBM
If Ferrari wanted the rules to change they would make it happen
After all they are Ferrari!
Just be patient guys this too shall pass
With an American team entering the fray shortly it should spice up the FIA rule committee a bit
We have a way of doing this !
Remember the Ford Ferrari battles of Le Mans in the late 60's ?
Just watch
Blondes with big tits on the grid
Umbrella girls American style!
It is what it is!

In victory you deserve Champagne
In defeat you need it!

Scars are Tattoos with better stories !

If you follow all the rules
You miss all the fun!

Yep, agreed.

All part of another two headed idiocy....  Cost cutting and green race cars.  If they had just stayed with the motors they had think of the R&D costs that could have been saved... Then they could have let the teams (and more importantly the new drivers) test.  The lack of testing is bad for the sport but I foresee the real downside is it's going to contribute to some young rookie getting killed... And possibly taking someone with him.  The upshot would have been a race car that sounds like a race car and not a flatulent tug boat!

I hate Charlie Whiting!

For me, one of the stupidest rules is the restriction on testing. This has meant over the last few years that the guys who got it right in pre-season (or at least got it better than the others) are pretty much the ‘locked in concrete’ series winners – ho hum! Yawn! Yes, sure, there’s a bit of incremental improvement here and there, and great driving by Fernando dragging a car further up the standings than it deserves, and if you are an Aussie like I am then it’s fun seeing Daniel bang it on the podium from time to time with his spirited driving. And that’s all very interesting in its own way. But think of the year Button won for Honda/Braun, or the last few Red Bull years, now this Mercedes year – the only time they don’t win is when they themselves screw up! ‘Pardon me, Lewis, did I ram you up the arse? So sorry! Lucky I didn’t hurt MY car, what?’ And so the excitement comes down to – will they prang each other out of a race, and then afterwards, the delightful anticipation of will they biff each other? Unfortunately, this is all so ‘managed’ these days. Bring back the biff, I say! Remember Michael storming across the paddock and down pit lane to have a bit of a chat with Mika after an incident a few years ago?

Cheers,

Grahame
