Fun weekend

Hey Friends,

The weekend is over and the 18th Radnor Hunt Concours d'Elegance is over, until the 19th arrives next year anyway. We had great fun and the show was HUGE! There were 100 cars +/-, in the main concours and 230 cars in Motorsport Park - the show within a show.

I had the honor of coordinating the judging for Motorsport Park. Four other judges and I worked our tails off evaluating all 230 cars in 2 hours! Categories were: Best Prepared Car, Best Car Club, Best 'Survivor', Best Italian Car, and of course, Best in Motorsport Show. That means selecting the top 2% of the cars, or obviously, the top car in each category. We completed our task on time and with consensus - then relaxed.

Nancy and I stayed with Phil and Teri Tegtmeier in Elverson,  PA, putting us about 45min away from the show. To my surprise, Phil made the commute quite enjoyable for me by handing me a 1989, 26k mile, 348tb to drive. The car ran great both ways and presented well in the show, if obviously excluded from show competition. This red/black car was a treat to drive. Its road feel, if that is a descriptor, was very much like my 308GTB, if a little more refined and with a bit more grunt. The drive over was rather early morning. The return was just after sundown. Nice, twisty eastern Pennsylvania roads added to the fun. And yes,  we did see deer! :-o

Now its about time to have breakfast then climb aboard our flight home, leaving behind the 46F morning temperature only to expect 90F and sweltering humidity in Houston.

Busy now. Until later...
