Hello Friends,
Those of you who know me well know that I have no hard allegiance to any one marque, including Ferrari, but I do tend to favor older British cars. And that statement shouldn't be read to imply that I favor Ferrari any less. I just like machines, be they cars, clocks, carburetors or locomotives!
I write today to report that I have added another car to the already overcrowded Scuderia Lindsay garage. Its now the fifth British car to join the fleet following the MG TD, the TR3, the E-Type and the Silver Shadow. Newly purchased is a white 1979 Lotus Esprit S2. Yes, another car that some List members hate. It even has a nice pair of 45DCOE Webers!
Purchase completed today with delivery this coming Saturday. The car is gorgeous inside and out, needing nothing beyond a maintenance catch-up since its been sitting unused for 6 months. It will get a full fluids flush then after a little wake-up exercise and assessment, any other issues will be addressed. The cam belt is older but has very few miles on it. It will be changed along with the ancillary belts and hoses at the first full service.
Elsewhere in the garage, the Volvo 1800ES project is one long weekend away from finished. Restored and refinished parts are going back on the MG TD daily. It will be done by year end, sooner if the Esprit maintenance goes easily.
And that's the update from Houston. Fun continues unabated. Pictures to follow.
