I’ll be glad to share what I have – I have all the paper parts books from the 1976 308 on up to F50. Why? Dunno. Guess I completed my penny collection sometime in the 60’s (haven’t added to it since then) and I like collecting exciting things. Terri collects junk. They say they're the same and send me X and I see that it is a few mm bigger in diameter. Wiggle the old one and it starts working again. Go figure and $400 back in my wallet... I have an 81 308 GTSi and a parts book for the 81 308 GTSi. I had some speed sender issues ie 70mph backing out of my garage. I put it on my lift and the parts book showed it on the bottom and it is on the top looking like a chess piece. GP parts speculated the transaxle was not original. In 2010 I was at the factory and went to the classic area. They assured me there was a correct parts book for my 308 providing all my numbers match. Got back home and sent the serial #s of the body, engine and transaxle to Ferrari and they all are correct and I needed Cat 193/80. Got 1 from T.Rutlands. I was lucky all of the parts I had bought with the wrong parts book, only the clutch cable turned out to be wrong, found this out this past summer when replacing the clutch. Clyde, Yeah the Fchat guys would like to see and hear your story. It'll answer a lot of questions I'm sure... and create a few more. Don't forget FerrariLife. Mark E continues his 308 V12 Frankenmotor ok guys this is lessons learned on this still evolving project Ferrari tends to update stuff and never say anything until you get the new part! So always have a parts book The service manual is shit when it comes to how things are to go where The parts manual has the real story Take plenty of pictures of the unit before you start taking it all apart Expect upgrades and save the old ones so when you get the new ones you know you have the correct part! My car had over 100k on it and it ran I decided to put in a new clutch and throw-out bearing assembly Along with a new flywheel Yes I have plenty of pictures of the job in different stages Also for those of you on Ferrari Chat Do you think they would be interested in this job on that forum? In victory you deserve Champagne <image001.gif>
