I'm sure I've shared the story before but I was in the car with Ric shortly after he bought it. It was cheap but rough. Two issues were a rough idle that sometimes stalled and the sticking solenoid. It was stop and go traffic and we kept stalling. That car attracts a lot of attention of course already. When we'd stall, Ric would pop the decklid, I'd hop out and hit the solenoid with the hammer. I did it only as hard as I needed to but decided to put on a show and make it look like I was really smacking it, lifting my arm way up in the air, etc.

Yes it is. I bought it from Ric after he bought it back from Deep, who bought it from... Well, you know. I got it with the engine in cardboard boxes. Scary but fun project. Thanks for the reminder. The solenoid doesn't even 'click' on a less than ideal battery charge. I suspect corroded or loose internal connections. That will be my first workplan attack, right after a few careful hammer blows to the solenoid! :-)-rick-------- Original message --------From: Matt BoydDate:12/06/2014 7:48 AM (GMT-06:00)To: Rick Lindsay , The FerrariListSubject: Re: [Ferrari] Love holiday days offIs that Ric's and Lashdeep's old car? As I recall the starter is very
accessible. I've hot the solenoid on that car with a hammer s couple times
in Dallas traffic.
