Newer Ferraris are a NIGHTMARE 
Open the hood on a 599 or any of the late model GOTTA HAVES
They are nothing more than over priced Lexus cars
Very close the to GTR that Nissan is pawning off as a super car
All the new 12 cylinder cars have the Ferrari badges but that's it 
Pull that off of it and it blends in 
No Panache zero zip nada 
And for $250k please with carbon fiber brakes that wear out and $5k a side 
Where are the posers going to need that stoping power ? At the country club?
If you buy one of this cars you might as well buy bonds too! 
Because they are going down in value as well
Have you seen the new 4 series limited edition they built 6 of yet?
All sold out already one to a sand idiot in the UAE for $500 million, with gold wheels

Ferrari is amazing they can take a turd and put a prancing horse it and sell it for money unbelievable! And to thing the Italians we're on the losing side in WW2

I foolishly bought a 1974 450sl at an auction thinking it was a convertible that looked nice and would be a fun car for drives in the country and to the beach. 

Turns out that year is not favored in the marketplace, not that I cared a lot, but that the cost of getting it mechanically where I wanted it to be was an order of magnitude higher than the price of the best '74 SL in the world. It had to go. 

That said, there are a lot of great old cars without computers that are fun to drive and that have a lot of personality. Modern Ferrari performance is so far above what you can use on today's streets and highways that I think you could be arrested and still be bored by your speed, all at the same time. 

Newer Ferraris are pretty capable but the older ones are a lot more fun.

1.  Ferrari parts are better available from the independent dealers and/or Ferrari UK rather than your local Ferrari dealer.  A good deal cheaper, too.
2.  Bentley parts are available from Crewe unless you need/want used.  Then Flying Spares is awesome.
3.  Mercedes Classic flat out told me to buy a parts car if you own a R107.  Insert joke about losing the war, TWICE!!!, here.

Clyde makes a good point here.

 

I have all, well, most (about 10 linear feet) of the paper manuals.  Mostly starting with the 1976 308’s.  Started collecting with eBay when it was new and DVD’s were not.

 

I will be glad to share any info or look up anything for our happy family.

 

Secondly about the “ Ferrari tends to update stuff and never say anything - - - “  Well, I am of the opinion that when the parts guys asks for the VIN, me, as the unsuspecting customer, is happy to share this info with the parts guy who is no doubt younger than my car.  But back to the opinion – I was under the mis- thought process that if there was an update the parts guy didn’t want to mix my old part up with the new part - Questo è stato il pensiero molto sbagliato [that was VERY wrong thinking.
 
It’s not that – No such thing as a bin of the old stuff and a bin of the new stuff.  All they want to do is mark my request NLA.  *&^%&^%(?)!
