Stephen, there's nothing inherently wrong with turbos. The problem is a ridiculous rev-limiter. What was wrong with a V10 at 18000rpm? Political correctness pressure? If they want reduced fuel usage, leave one of the 18-wheelers at home!

And yes, Michael has a better podium victory leap than any other winner, before or since! In the pits, he was neither friendly nor rude. He was professional. Treated all us marshals as professionals, even though we are all volunteers.

I agree with you about engine development. Ferrari for got 'I build
engines'. Of course modern F1 requires both Aero and Engines.

However on the question of drivers, Michael was worth 1/2 second a lap, I
have to disagree.

I was at COTA this year and the cars sound worse in person than on TV. Some
blame it on turbos, but in the 80s they were using turbos and sounded GREAT.
