Ran across this 7500 mile issue when I was looking for my Ducati. Leave to Kalifornia to create a market for rolling odometers forward instead of back.

Fortunately found a great buy on a California registered S4 Monster, so mileage wasn't an issue.

Indeed, so would you have to register the parts that fell off?

Does the DeTomato Countach you are buying have less than 7500 miles? I guess so as most fell apart before that...  :)

California considers any vehicle with less than 7,500 miles on the odometer at the time of purchase or trade by a California resident or business, to be a new vehicle. This is true whether or not the vehicle has been registered in another state.

All,

A question,

I am trying to find information on registering a euro car bought out of state. It spent most its life in CA, now it is titled out of state. I looked at the DMV website and said the car could not be registered unless it had a 50 state emission plate. This is a 1974? The DMV website seems pretty cut and dry and says no emission plate no exemption unless a very few that dont apply to a regular sale. Just cause they are smog exempt does not mean they can be registered?

Thanks for any advice hoping someone here has the info I need.
