Does the DeTomato Countach you are buying have less than 7500
miles? I guess so as most fell apart before that... :)
California considers any
vehicle with less than 7,500 miles on the odometer at the time of purchase or
trade by a California resident or business, to be a new
vehicle. This is true whether or not the vehicle has been registered in another
state.

I am trying to find information on registering a euro car bought out of state. It spent most its life in CA, now it is titled out of state. I looked at the DMV website and said the car could not be registered unless it had a 50 state emission plate.

is a 1974? The DMV website seems pretty cut and dry and says no emission plate
no exemption unless a very few that dont apply to a regular sale. Just cause
they are smog exempt does not mean they can be registered?
