I have a chunk of the start finish line.  Last race there was cobbled up track completely eliminating turn 8 and zig zagging before turn 7a back to the main straight.  September 23, 24, 1989.  Track was falling apart – read – don’t follow the Bozo in front of you too close or you too will sport a chunk the ever famous RIR perhaps thru your windshield.

 

What is even MORE of a travesty is NONE of the streets recall ANY racing legends, names, cars, tracks – nuthin’.  Maybe ‘Gateway Drive’ is as close as you can get.  But Campus Drive?  Eucalyptus?  Nawwww.
