I'm one of the few that is NOT into Formula 1... Haven't been for many years now.
I stopped being into it after the 1990s. I can't say specifically why, but generally speaking, I just don't see the relevance of it to the general automotive world, or in another way, I don't relate it to street cars. Okay, so there is some trickle down effect with advanced electronics and composites but this is still exotic and luxury car-territory. I prefer rally racing as the best showcase for driver abilities and isn't that a primary reason to watch cars race? Going around the same circle, over and over again for an hour-and-a-half gets dull fast (at least there are left AND right turns in F1. I can't watch more than a few seconds of NASCAR without being bored to death). I can only imagine how boring the recent Australian race must have been by the few reports I've read. Another thing that hasn't drawn any interest with me are the last few years of F1 design have been hideous. After the Ferrari 641, there hasn't been a beautiful-looking car since. Peter P.S. The last time I was at an F1 race was Montreal in 1991 (when I lived there. Moved to Vancouver in '96). CC: ferrari [at] ferrarilist.com To: dino308gt4 [at] hotmail.com No German Formula 1 Grand Prix this year. First
time since 1960 (I think). I have been to both (Hockenheim 1987 and Nurburgring
2009).
Think about this:
German team (Mercedes) as the World
Champion.
German driver (Rosberg) in that team.
German driver (Vettel) world champion 4 times
driving for Ferrari.
German driver (Hulkenberg) with great
potential.
Still the Germans don't want to pay the
price.
Lowest number of starters in a race since 1958
(15).
Crisis ? what crisis ?
My 2 cents!
Michael Savard (1981 308 GTSi)
P.S.: I have my ticket for the Canadian Grand
Prix
