For those concerned about spoilers and unwelcome rumor blather, there are browser plug-ins ("apps") to block unwanted content, and some blockers are designed to block spoilers (e.g.  unspoiler) that filter out movie plots, game scores, etc.

Every now and then I get on a browser that doesn't have the usual adblock and unspoiler plug-ins — the amount of noise is painful enough to make me stop and plug-in some silencers.
