The professional auction houses have it down to a tee. 

Love watching Bambi or Ashlee do a lap dance on some billionaires lap as a made over muscle car goes for 140,000$.

Ever wonder if the buyer and seller are set up?

Ya know, they get together after the show, crack open a fine single malt, cut the price in two, and have a great laugh.

Kinda fun to watch when I get bored listening to paint dry.

Truly incredible (as in: difficult or impossible to believe).  According to them, prices have about doubled in the last year, starting to ascend substantially around last May and then increasing even more dramatically around the beginning of this year.  One can easily imagine it being a bubble of sorts.

I didn't bother digging further on their website to see what data they use, though perhaps the prices are from the crazy auctions.
