When I told everyone I put Clyde in touch with a world class motor guy who happened to own a TR I tried to keep his info private. I guess that cat is out of the bag. For those of you who have written me asking to pose questions, I'd say ask them here and be patient. Kent is a busy man and a dear friend so let's not abuse this resource.
Clyde Looked through all my spare parts only could find one new BMW Radiator Drain Plug, see attached picture. I will order a couple tomorrow Monday, my buddy Carl Nelson (La Jolla Independent BMW) should have them in stock. I usually keep a couple around. Also did look up the thermostat that I used in 2011 for my engine out, it is a MotoRad 248-174 (link below) , I had taken that # right from Ferrari OEM parts supplier list, that is why I chose that brand, They are $13.54 retail. I would suggest drilling an 1/8" hole in the outer ring and install at the 12 o'clock position. Doing that will make the thermostats react faster and flow better on warm up.
I will let you know tomorrow if Carl has the drain plugs in stock, if not they would be a std. BMW service parts line item, usually means over night.
Got your address and Fed Ex #
