Simulator, I agree, personal experience = when I was/am learning to Fly Radio Control Helicopters the $200 I spent on the simulator vs the $1000's I saved on crashed .60 X-cell helicopters.

RC heli's were more difficult to fly than the drones of today. I was able to get a drone with a HD camera that transmits video back to a receiver connected to the transmitter for $107 incl shipping.

Back in the $1000 for the heli, $1000 for the transmitter another $1000 engine, batteries, starter and fuel.

Sorry for off topic but I feel sims have their place.

My opinion on these high priced simulators is that for the right amount of disposable income/wealth they are worth it. If it came down to having 7 real cars or 6 with the sim, should be a clear choice. 

Kids and/or drunk people cannot drive real cars/race cars.....that alone has to count for something.
